2009 Diet Patch Reviews: Diet Patches vs. Diet Pills

Our diet patch reviews have allowed us to experience first hand that people are overwhelmingly attracted too and gravitate towards anything that makes life easier...especially when it comes to dieting. The new diet patch has now made even popping pills look difficult.

Outside of diet patches and pills many diets can be quite complicated, while others involve measuring food or eating a certain food type. Many diets have fallen out of fashion due to people’s fast-paced and high-powered lifestyles.

Nowadays, remembering to take a pill at particular intervals during the day is apparently too taxing...at least compared to sticking a patch on. So is this just a mere diet fad or are diet patches legit and here to stay? Our diet patch reviews are formatted into FAQ's to hopefully help you answer that very question.

What’s the Diet Patch Claim?

The diet patch claims to have the power within to “trick the brain into thinking that you have eaten a three-course meal” by “killing the appetite stone dead.”Unlike capsules, patches enable the body to absorb the patches ingredients (we recommend Hoodia be the primary herbal ingredient) "transdermally” or through the skin.

The patches transdermal process also happens much faster and more evenly throughout the 24 hour period. But the big benefit is patches allow you to absorb 100% of the ingredients into your bloodstream.

Unlike diet patches, if you take...say a Hoodia diet capsule a small portion of the appetite-suppressing Hoodia is absorbed by the liver, and yet a little more is destroyed in the stomach. In the end your body may have only absorbed a fraction of what's intended. The patch however, allows the ingredients to bypass the liver and stomach taking a direct route into your bloodstream.

What’s the theory behind diet patches?

Diet patches theoretically are said to have a molecule that acts on the brain in much the same way as glucose. Glucose is your brains main fuel supply as well as your muscles (called glycogen). Herbal suppressants found in diet patches mimic glucose and theoretically trick the brain into thinking that you have already eaten. In short, you have much more control over your appetite and cravings for carbs, snacks, sweets, etc.

How Do I Follow The Plan?

Before purchasing we advise trying one via. a “free trial” offer (of course we’ve found “free” to mean…$7 - $9 shipping). Once it comes in the mail you simply stick it on an inconspicuous spot on the skin, such as the hip or upper arm.

After leaving it on for twenty-four hours you simply remove it and apply another one. Your hunger is suppressed the entire time you are wearing the patch.

Diet Patch Reviews: Pros

Diet Patches have a big upside in that they’re just so darn simple and easy to use. They've redefined the idiot proof diet.

They've also proven to be safe and with no known side effects...other than increased energy and a suppressed appetite. In theory, transdermal patches are more effective than diet pills. The ingredients react quicker and are regulated to a limited extent...at least to last an entire 24 hour period.

So in theory diet patches allow dieters to absorb more appetite-reducing ingredients versus a pill or capsule. Also, because you wear the patch for twenty-four hours, your hunger is reduced during the night as well, minimizing "midnight snacking” or waking up in the middle of the night feeling hungry.

Diet Patch Reviews: Cons

As with many diets, you want to make sure that you are being careful to make an effort yourself. A diet patch or capsule should be used to supplement an already good diet and exercise regiment. So a big drawback with diet patches is that diet patches are not really a “diet” but rather a diet supplement.

Also, the big downside is that patches have no conclusive reports or research to verify the claims they make...other than user testimonials. Yet this is mostly true with most herbal diet pills as well.

Diet patches could theoretically be one of the best diet supplements...ever! What's holding the patch back is as of May 2008 no factual, supportive evidence other than testimonials have been reported.

We do have evidence to support the effectiveness of other transdermal patches i.e. nicotine, estrogen, anti-depressants, and even pain killer patches have all paved the way for diet patches. Until proof all we have is company and testimonial claims that are sometimes misleading.

Some diet patch companies have even been banned by the FTC for unsubstantiated claims. Such companies however, were grossly exaggerating the diet patches' capabilities. The diet patch companies we recommend below have been reviewed by the FTC and the only one we currently recommend.

The Bottom Line

If you are looking for a fast and easy diet supplement, the diet patches have got to be the easiest thing in the diet industry. There are no eating plans to follow, foods to avoid, or even any pills to remember to take.

The patch in most cases will decrease your appetite. Some will suggest even more so than what many of the pills on the market can do. Just be careful to use diet patches (as well as pills) as a supplement to a healthy diet and exercise program.

Sooner or later the "get thin quick", fad dieters will realize that the only real, long-term weight loss cure is by habitually eating fewer calories and exercise. Of course this is ultimately the bottom line for any long-term weight-loss plan.

Diet patches are great way to kick start the whole process if you're wanting quicker results but again most diet patch reviews (including ours) will unanimously proclaim that the patch is and was never meant to be a stand alone diet plan.
